French SMEs to attend Paris Air Show in record numbers
The French Aerospace Suppliers space at the 2009 Paris Air Show will feature a record number of SMEs/SMIs. This area, which is being organised by the French Chambers of Commerce, will showcase the expertise of 400 French SMEs in a dedicated space of more than 4,000m². The Paris Air Show will take place from 15 to 21 June 2009.At the 2009 Paris Air Show, Hall 4 will be exclusively dedicated to French Aerospace Suppliers. Alongside the 400 SMEs/SMIs showcasing their products and technology, there will also be representatives of three competitiveness clusters in the aerospace sector – Astech, Aerospace Valley and EMC2. It is the first time that the Paris Air Show has showcased a collection of companies in this way.
The French Aerospace Suppliers area has been organised by the French Chambers of Commerce, including those of Rhône-Alpes, Midi Pyrénées, Aquitaine, Paris, Versailles and Seine et Marne, with the support of other regional authorities, including Centreco, Arex Picardie and SEM Pays de la Loire. Accordingly, the participating companies come from across France's main regions.
As part of the drive to promote French SMEs in the aerospace sector, the French Chambers of Commerce & Industry have also launched a platform providing information about aerospace companies. The online portal is available in English and in French at www.espace-aeronautique.com. It includes profiles of more than 380 SMIs, as well as a comprehensive directory and useful links. Additionally, the web portal provides information on international events likely to interest specialists in the sector.

The French Aerospace Suppliers space has been organised with the cooperation of various Chambers of Commerce and other regional authorities. The area is being coordinated by the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Seine et Marne (a département situated in the Paris region).This year, the 48th International Paris Air Show, which will take place in Le Bourget (north of Central Paris), as usual, will be held from 15 to 21 June 2009. The French Aerospace Suppliers space will be in Hall 4.
Held for the first time in 1909, the Paris Air Show is the world’s oldest event of its kind and will celebrate its centennial in June 2009. With 2,000 international exhibitors and more than 150,000 expected trade visitors, as well as 200,000 members of the general public, the Paris Air Show remains the world’s premier air show and the most important event of the year for the aerospace and defence industry.
