Tours Val de Loire Airport is an International airport in the French department of Indre-et-Loire, 6km north-northeast of the city of Tours. The airport is currently located at and leaning on the French Air Force’s air base and military flight training center. By a governmental decision, the airport’s military use is expected to terminate in July 2021 and the ownership of the platform (200 ha) will be transferred to the SMADAIT; a joint venture between various public authorities. The SMADAIT has expressed its willingness to develop the airport into an independent regional airport to create additional economic value for the metropole and the Loire Valley.
